Robert Ongaro is a sculptor, teacher, and artist in Ann Arbor, Michigan

He studied commercial art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and photography at Triton College in the early 1960’s.
Figurative sculpture was a major interest from a young age. Mostly self-taught, took a formal sculpting class at Eastern Michigan University with John Pappas. Workshops and symposiums in Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina with Eugene Daub.
Founding member of the West Huron Sculptor's Studio in Arbor Arbor, Michigan.
A member of AMSA, The American Medallic Sculpture Association and FIDEM, an international exhibitor of contemporary medals. Taught figurative sculpture techniques at the Ann Arbor Art Center.
